My dissertation contributed a theoretic framework for conceptualizing the discovery of entrepreneurial opportunities in theories about entrepreneurial phenomena. Drawing from epistemology, the principal implications of the framework are the conceptualization of opportunities (not people or firms) as units of analysis and the use of non-parametric (not general linear model-based parametric) approaches to statistical analysis of opportunity data.
